<Alex> Pamela's Pasta 潘蜜拉義大利麵

Pamela Pasta, the best Italian restaurant I have ever tasted, is situated in Tian-Mu, Taipei. It is really well known around Tian-Mu community because of its reasonable prices and the high quality dishes. Pamela Pasta started its business about 10 years ago, so it is a pretty old store. I usually went there for lunch every Wednesday with my classmates or family because I used to study in Tian-Mu elementary school which is right next to Pamela Pasta.

This is the location of the restaurant, the nearest MRT station is Shipai station on the red line,but you cannot reach their directly by the MRT so you have to take the bus, 601, R19, R12 or 645.

Unlike most Italian restaurants, Pamela's prices are much cheaper than the others such as La-Pasta or Nu-Pasta so you can enjoy a plate of high quality pasta within 200 NT dollar. There are a lot of flavor that you can choose, for instance, tomatoes sauce, Pesto sauce, cream sauce, Pesto cream, pumpkin sauce and even mustard sauce. In every different flavor, you can chose what you want to add in the pasta; if you prefer to eat pesto and chicken at the same time, than you can order a plate of Pesto chicken spaghetti, if you prefer to try cuttlefish in a garlic taste then you can order the Garlic cuttlefish spaghetti.

Pamela pasta doesn't only provide one kind of pasta, you can choose what ever type of pasta you want without any extra charges. Furthermore, if you order pasta with cuttlefish in any flavor, the restaurant will automatically alter the pasta type into black pasta that is made by natural cuttlefish black ink. I personally prefer spaghetti and Penne because they taste the best and the hardness is right in the perfect spot. By the way, they also provide free drinking water and black tea, not to mention the free deliver service. Also the toilet facilities are nice.

For the appetizer, there are two choices, salad with shrimp and soup. The sauces of the salad is incredible, although it is personally a little too sour for me, the combination is still greater than average. There are various flavors of soup, such as the corn soup, tomato beef soup and sometimes pumpkin soup. The soup contains a unique tastes, I guess the cook adds some special spices in it.

Tomato spaghetti with Meat Sauce

This is the cheapest dish in the restaurant and also the classic for every pasta fan. To me, the sauce is way too sour, the hardness of the spaghetti is perfect. It will be awesome if you enjoy this tomato pasta with Tabasco because the spiciness of the Tabasco will cover the short come of this dish.

Garlic Spaghetti with bacon

The sauce of this pasta is not very common in Taiwan because it is difficult to cook it perfectly. I really like this flavor because it won't be too creamy like the tomato sauce or pesto sauce. There is a lot of bacon and pepper in the pasta, which makes the pasta looks colorful and attractive.

Pesto Spaghetti with cream and chicken

This is my favorite pasta because of the sauce. The sauce is extremely delicious, it is creamy but it won't be too greasy, and it's great to eat with bread because the sauce will soak inside the bread. The chicken is big and juicy, it won't be too hard and, importantly, there is no bone in it.

Mustard Pasta with vegetable and cream

This kind of flavor is super rare in Taiwan, so if you want to try it you can visit Pamela Pasta. I personally think the taste of the cream is way too strong so it totally cover the mustard flavor. However, next time when you struggle to decide what to eat, why don't to visit the best community Tian Mu and try this fantastic and cool restaurant.
